How to Boost Your Productivity Levels

How to Boost Your Productivity Levels

When life gets busy and distractions creep into your daily life, it can feel tough to stay focused on the tasks at hand.

The good news is, there are steps you can take to boost your productivity, even when you’re feeling overwhelmed. If you’ve been distracted and not performing your best lately, try these tips to restore your highest function.

Take Breaks Throughout Your Day

Though it might seem counterintuitive, taking breaks is actually a great way to ensure that you stay productive. Giving yourself time to recover from the demands of the day allows you to return to important tasks with renewed care and attention.

One study of 841 workers over the span of a year found that using a lunch break to detach from the demands of the workday helped workers feel more energized during their shifts.

Another study of 86 office workers tested whether micro-breaks could function effectively as recovery mechanisms in the workplace. Relaxation and social activities during these micro-breaks were found to be especially helpful in moderating the stressors of the workday.

Essentially, if you want to function your best, taking breaks is vital. Whether you opt to take a long break in the middle of a daunting task or shorter breaks throughout the process, giving your mind a rest will help you perform better in the long run.

Find Ways to Boost Your Mood

If you feel like you get more done when you feel happy, you’re probably right. In a study where randomly selected individuals were made happier, those individuals were found to be about 12% more productive.

Of course, there are outside factors you can’t control when it comes to your mood, but try to make time for the things that make you happy throughout the day. Call a friend, read a book, or spend a few extra moments quietly enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning.

When you make room in your life for the things that make you feel good, you may find that your productivity levels rise.

Prioritize Proper Nutrition

The old saying “you are what you eat,” doesn’t literally mean that you’ll transform into a stalk of celery or a greasy cheeseburger, but you certainly might feel like one. The nutrients you get (or don’t get) from the foods you eat have a direct impact on how you perform in your daily life.

There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself to the foods you love, but you also need to make sure that you’re getting all of the nutrients you need. In fact, a study by the International Labour Organization (ILO) found that proper nourishment can raise productivity levels by as much as 20 percent.

It can be tough to get all of the nutrients your body craves from diet alone when you’re especially busy—that’s why customizing a supplement routine to fit your family’s needs is an ideal way to fill in any nutritional gaps.

Make an Effort to Get Healthy Sleep

Sleeping well translates to feeling your best in the morning, but it may also have an impact on productivity.

A study of almost 3000 participants found that good sleep hygiene has an impact on productivity. Good sleep hygiene consists of things like sticking to a steady sleep schedule, adopting a nightly bedtime routine, making your bedroom as comfortable and distraction free as possible and cultivating healthy daytime habits.

Another study of 188 nurses found that poor sleep quality led to lower productivity. When you’re particularly busy or stressed, it’s only normal that your sleep might get a little off track, so you may feel that you need some extra support even if you have healthy sleep hygiene.

How KAL Can Help

With a wide range of supplements, KAL is here to help you on your journey to stay productive.

Whether you want to support the healthy energy you need to perform your best with NADH or you’re looking for occasional healthy sleep support with Melatonin, you can trust KAL to offer the quality support you’ve been searching for.

Staying productive may feel like a challenge, but when you make an effort to prioritize healthy habits, you’ll find that it’s possible to boost your productivity regardless of the stressors you face.
