Experience the Power of Turmeric

Experience the Power of Turmeric

You might know turmeric as the spice that gives Indian curry sauces that vibrant yellow color. Not only does it taste great, but as a dietary supplement, it can support health on many levels.

Health Benefits of Turmeric

When it comes to the benefits of turmeric, a great place to begin is with its antioxidant properties.1 Antioxidants work on a cellular level to protect cells against harmful free radicals and reactive oxygen species.1 According to a 2020 analysis of four different studies, taking curcumin as a dietary supplement significantly increased total antioxidant capacity.2

The research on turmeric and heart health is also strong. According to a 2024 review, many studies have shown that curcumin can support heart health in numerous ways.3

There are also benefits of turmeric for joint health. In a 2021 review of ten studies, curcumin extract supported healthy joint function more than the placebo.4

When it comes to turmeric and liver function, curcumin can also help. A review of 65 different studies showed that curcumin effectively supported liver function via several mechanisms including its antioxidant activity.5

While turmeric shows up in various foods as a spice, you need to consume very large amounts of it to get the key benefits listed above from diet alone. Like many superfoods and other key nutrients, it may be necessary to take supplements to experience everything turmeric has to offer.
