5 Ways to Stay Healthy as A Busy Mom

5 Ways to Stay Healthy as A Busy Mom

As a mom, your instinct is to give, give and give some more. But this Mother’s Day, remember that you can’t pour from an empty cup; if you’re going to give your little ones the love and support they deserve, then you need to take care of yourself, too.

The problem is, lots of busy moms feel like there just aren’t enough hours in the day to prioritize their own wellness. So, how can you stay healthy when you’re juggling work, weekend soccer gamesafterschool practices and everything in betweenHere are five tips for staying healthy as a busy mom

1. Make Self-Care a Priority

If you look at “me time” as a luxury you just can’t afford, then it’s time to reconsider. Find a balance between your role as a mom and your place in the world as an individual.

Make room in your schedule for the things that make you feel good—your favorite hobbies, an afternoon nap or a phone call with a friend. Set aside time to do nice things for yourself, and you may soon find that you feel happier and healthier.

2. Adopt Healthy Eating Habits

When you’re crunched for time, it’s easy to opt for unhealthy meals because they’re quick. As tempting as it may be to hit a drive-through, you’re not properly fueling your body when you do thatand you may just end up feeling sluggish

Think of meals as nourishment; choose foods based on how they make you feel rather than how convenient they are. Preparing and storing healthy snacks in advance is a great way to set yourself up for success.

3. Exercise Regularly

Exercise is a healthy practice on a number of different levels: it helps keep your metabolism moving, and promotes healthy lung and cardiovascular functionThe CDC recommends adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise per week, and engage in muscle strengthening activities at least two days a week.

Another perk of exercise is that it gives you endorphins, a type of neurotransmitter known to support feelings of well-being.

4. Get Restful Sleep

To keep up with a busy schedule, your body and mind need a chance to recharge. For most adults, a quality night of rest means (in part) getting at least seven hours of sleep, according to the National Sleep Foundation

If you find that you encounter occasional sleep disturbances, a supplement like KAL Melatonin may help provide the healthy sleep cycle support you need.

5. Create A Supplement Routine

Supplements can offer all sorts of benefits, and you can tailor your routine to precise needs. Some popular women’s supplements include:

  • Pretty Magnesium Powder — Magnesium and collagen support a healthy skin glow for benefits you can truly see
  • Bone Meal Powder — Rich in calcium, bone meal powder is an excellent way to support your foundational health.
  • Vitamin B-12 — This nutrient supports healthy energy so you can stay engaged from breakfast to bedtime.

Whatever benefits you’re looking for, there’s a supplement routine that can help you live your most fulfilled lifestyle.
